View on the App Store→Percentages hide the real figure. A $44.99 app at 25% off annual billing costs $404.91 for the year against $539.88 paid monthly, a saving of $134.97. Do that arithmetic for every app on your shortlist and rank by dollars, because 50% off a cheap app is often worth less than 20% off the one you will actually keep.
Most BFCM app pricing is a first-year rate. A few are permanent. Check the offer note before you commit to an annual charge, and diarise the renewal date the same day you install.
Most Shopify app trials run one to two weeks. Start in early October and the trial is over well before your freeze date, so you get to test the app against real pre-peak traffic and still drop it if it has not earned its place. Take the same trial on 20 November and you are evaluating it during the one week you cannot afford to change anything.
Most Shopify merchants stop changing themes and apps somewhere between 14 and 20 November. Anything needing theme work, a Liquid snippet or a support ticket has to be in and tested before that date. Treat the freeze as the real deadline, not Black Friday.
Two apps doing the same thing will fight. Two discount engines will both try to rewrite the same cart, two popup apps will both fire on the same page, and the bug shows up under load on the worst weekend of the year. Pick one per category and uninstall the loser properly, including leftover theme code.
Ask one pre-sales question and time the reply. If an app is going to sit in your checkout path over BFCM, the developer's response time on a Saturday matters more than the discount.
No. Every developer sets its own window, rate and eligibility, so the offers here are not a single campaign and cannot be compared on price alone. Most open between early October and mid November and close on Cyber Monday or at the end of November, but several run into December and a couple run for a full year. Read the Runs and Who lines on each card, and if a detail is missing it is because the developer has not confirmed it yet.
No. Anything touching your theme, cart or checkout should be installed, configured and load-tested before your freeze date, which for most merchants falls between 14 and 20 November. If you find an app you want in late November, take the trial, leave it unconfigured, and set it up in December.
Most of them, yes. The majority of the rates listed here apply to new installs only, which is stated on each card. A few are open to everyone, and a small number hold the discounted rate for the life of the subscription rather than the first year. The Who line on each card is the one to read before you commit to annual billing.
