About Avid Gourmet

Since 2009, Ontario-based Avid Gourmet has been a trusted name in Canada’s food-trade industry. Specializing in gourmet wholesale distribution, they serve food retailers nationwide through a B2B-only Shopify store, offering premium products and personalized service.

The Problem

Building a Shopify store for only wholesale customers with no direct sales to the consumer

Avid Gourmet wanted to make a Shopify store just for their wholesale customers and not for regular shoppers. With manual bulk ordering processes becoming a hassle, their B2B customers wanted them to offer an online platform to create orders easily.

But they hit two big problems. First, they couldn’t show the lower prices they wanted to give to these bulk wholesale orders. This is really important because wholesalers buy in bulk to avail discounted pricing. So Avid Gourmet needed to create specialized purchase-based discounts and pricing for their special customers, and also personalize the offers based on specific customers.

Second, running wholesale on Shopify was really hard as due to various price and delivery logics you have to set for your B2B customers.

Because of these problems, Avid Gourmet had a hard time making their website good enough for wholesale customers. Without easy access to special prices and a simple way to order, it was hard to keep the stores happy and make everything run smoothly.

The Solution

Avid Gourmet found a great way to turn their Shopify site into a perfect spot for bulk wholesale orders with the Wholesale Helper apps.

Increase in Overall Order Volume

First off, they used Wholesale Pricing Discount that enabled them to show special prices just for bulk orders right on their website. This meant stores could easily see how much they’d save by buying more, which made them order even bigger amounts.

Then, they set up the WSH Order Form and ReOrder that made ordering super simple. This way, they cut down on the steps stores had to go through to buy stuff, making it a thousand times easier than sending an email or using a spreadsheet. But the best part was that everything was still done through Shopify, keeping it all in one place.

They also rely on Wholesale Lock Manager to control who can view specific products and prices, ensuring that only approved B2B customers have access to wholesale-exclusive content.

Lastly, Avid Gourmet liked how well the Wholesale Helper apps worked together and the super smooth integration. It wasn’t just about making the website better for wholesale orders; it was also about making everything work smoothly together. This integration made managing b2b wholesale on Shopify a breeze and helped Avid Gourmet keep their stores happy and coming back for more.
